Interesting news out of Hollywood today has a batch of actors who have been running through screen tests for the upcoming Captain America movie.

There’s some interesting names to say the least…
Alternatively, there’s a nice breakdown of all the candidates over at io9.

Back in the old days, we used to run a weekly poll that would pit two characters from the world of comics against one another. Guess what? It’s happening again.

Captain America's Return: A Little Clarification?

This week, the Captain America: Who Will Wield the Shield? arrives in comic stores everywhere and the big question isn’t “Who will be Captain America?” but rather “Why is this out already?”

Unless I severely missed something, there’s only been five issues of the Captain America: Reborn miniseries, with part six set for release on January 27th of next year, and doesn’t really have any aftermath yet. Also, Rogers has already made appearances in Dark Avengers, New Avengers and Invincible Iron Man to name a few. Here’s the bottom of the “Who Will Wield” cover:

I suppose it just seems like, after handling Steve Rogers’ death so professionally, Marvel is really screwing up his inevitable return.

What a shame.

Oh well. Captain America’s back!

Who Will Wield The Shield?

So, Captain America’s coming back… maybe. Assuming that he does actually come back, what will Bucky’s role in the Marvel Universe become? There can’t be two Caps… right?

Regardless of who takes over the role of the Star Spangled Avenger, with Ed Brubaker writing it, this issue is going to pretty badass. Here’s to hoping that someone completely ridiculous like Howard the Duck winds up taking over the role of Captain America.

Because, you know, that wouldn’t mess everything up or anything…
